NR Residence was conceived for a Portland-based entrepreneur who, after discovering Miami during Art Week, became drawn to Brickell’s metropolitan energy and to the distinctive character of Brickell Flatiron itself. Set on the 58th floor of the triangular tower designed by Luis Revuelta, with public interiors by Massimo Iosa Ghini, the three-bedroom corner penthouse opens toward sweeping views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline. NAR DESIGN STUDIO approached the residence not as a neutral backdrop, but as a fully composed urban interior—serious, elegant, and deeply personal—where asymmetry, strong geometry, and sculptural restraint shape a more mature expression of contemporary Miami living.
The defining challenge was the plan itself. While the penthouse offered extraordinary views, its asymmetrical layout and difficult corners left too much of the interior underused. Nar Design Studio rethought the space architecturally, repurposing wasted square footage into usable storage and recalibrating the great room for the way the client wanted to live and entertain. Before the intervention, the main social area could barely accommodate a three-seat sofa and a four-seat dining table; after the redesign, it was able to receive an eight-seat dining table, a larger sofa, a lounge chair, and a chaise while still feeling open and visually uninterrupted. The result is not only a more functional penthouse, but a more valuable one—clearer in circulation, stronger in proportion, and far better resolved.
That new sense of ease is reinforced by a palette that is disciplined in structure but far from understated in effect. Marble walls, smoked mirrors, glass, leather, and polished stone create an environment with real presence—graphic, reflective, and unmistakably masculine—while low-profile furnishings preserve the depth of the room and allow the skyline to remain part of the composition. The social spaces are anchored by a curated mix of sculptural pieces, including mustard swivel chairs, a generous low sofa, Pi Greco dining chairs, a Tivoli table, a smoked-glass cocktail table by Arketipo, and a curving lounger whose organic silhouette softens the apartment’s sharper geometry. Warm accent tones were drawn from the client’s Indian heritage and from artworks acquired around the project, introducing notes of clove, mustard, cayenne, and saffron into a base of gray and black. Near the entrance, Silvia Berton’s *Almost* helped define the chromatic mood of the residence, while black sculptural wall art adds another layer of tension and personality.
In the private rooms, the atmosphere becomes richer, darker, and more tactile. The primary bedroom is defined by an inverted headboard with integrated LED lighting and leather wallcovering, giving the suite a more enveloping and intimate character. A second bedroom was reimagined as a hybrid office and guest room, complete with desk, dresser, and sofa bed, while the guest bedroom extends the project’s storage logic and introduces a deeper palette of burgundy, black, and gray. Even the powder room was treated as a fully authored design moment: bold, compact, and materially expressive, with cayenne-toned millwork, a transparent resin basin, and art reflected in the mirror. This approach later earned Winner in Florida Design’s 2025 Seaglass Awards for Contemporary Powder Room. Nar Design Studio approached the penthouse as an exercise in composed intensity: strong geometry, smoked mirrors, marble, leather, sculptural furniture, and warm spice-toned accents held in exact proportion. The result is masculine without feeling heavy, expressive without becoming excessive, and luxurious because every gesture carries purpose. Where some penthouse interiors rely on spectacle, NR Residence builds identity through atmosphere, material authority, and spatial intelligence—serious, elegant, and mature in a way that feels entirely its own.
