Condo Interior Design at Brickell Flatiron

TP Apartment

A Brickell Flatiron residence shaped by asymmetrical planning, custom millwork, and a black-and-white material language used as an architectural tool rather than a decorative statement.

Set within Brickell Flatiron — the 64-story triangular tower by Luis Revuelta in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood — TP Apartment was designed for a young couple drawn to bold clarity over softness. The brief was precise: an exclusively black-and-white palette, no compromise on material richness, and a high-rise interior that feels striking without becoming heavy.

Nar Design Studio treated that constraint as a design premise rather than a limitation. Within a chamfered floor plan that resists conventional furniture arrangements, the project uses asymmetrical composition, reflected surfaces, and carefully graded textures to build depth and warmth within a monochromatic discipline.

The chamfered living room windows shaped every planning decision. An angular sofa and asymmetrical layout resolve the non-orthogonal geometry, while smoke mirrors, linen wallpaper, and lacquered wall panels create a rhythm of voids and solids that demarcates zones without physical partitions. The layout was further optimized by relocating the guest bedroom entrance to extend the media wall, and converting a den into a walk-in closet for the primary suite.

Materiality delivers the project’s real tension. Velvet, silk, and linen soften the black-and-white framework, while marble, polished stone, and mirror introduce harder reflective counterpoints. The result is a palette that reads as graphic from a distance and tactile up close — a balance that keeps the monochromatic concept from feeling austere.

In the primary bedroom, an inverted headboard with cove lighting illuminates a metallic wallpaper surface, while frosted glass nightstands and heavy drapery give the room a darker, more enveloping atmosphere. Throughout the apartment, organic furniture shapes — curved sofa, rounded dining set, sculptural seating — counterbalance the angular architecture and strict palette, ensuring every room feels inhabited rather than staged.

Within Nar Design Studio’s Brickell portfolio, TP Apartment sits between the spatial reconfiguration of NR Residence at Brickell Flatiron, the art-led expression of JZ Apartment at Brickell Flatiron, and the calmer contemporary language of Rise 3212 at Brickell City Centre. Together, these projects show how the studio approaches Brickell condominium interiors as distinct architectural responses rather than repeatable formulas

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
BOLD CONTRAST, MATERIAL WARMTH

TP Apartment tests a proposition that most monochromatic interiors avoid: whether a strict black-and-white palette can sustain genuine warmth and spatial complexity across an entire residence. The answer lies not in color but in material intelligence — the grading of textures from velvet to marble, the juxtaposition of matte linen against polished lacquer, the calibration of reflective and absorptive surfaces so that light behaves differently in every room.

That is the project’s real achievement. Within a palette that could easily become flat or theatrical, the interior maintains depth, variety, and a sense of comfort that comes from how surfaces feel as much as how they look. Monochrome here is not a style choice — it is a structural constraint that demanded stronger architectural thinking at every scale.
