project details

Step into the extraordinary SV Apartment, a half floor residence design by Nar Design Studio located at the prestigious One Thousand Museum by Zaha Hadid in Miami, Florida. This remarkable living space seamlessly combines organic architecture, a passion for music and arts, and a futuristic design concept. With a dynamic interplay of solids and voids, the SV Apartment offers a visual journey that captivates the senses. Embrace the innovative use of curves, surfaces, and technology as you explore the sculptural bar, inventive lighting design, and custom elements that define this unique living experience. Get ready to be immersed in a tropical oasis infused with a high-tech monochromatic theme.

At the heart of the SV Apartment’s Great Room lies a sculptural bar that serves as a focal point and a testament to artistic expression. Designed to embrace the structural column and seamlessly integrate with the surrounding architecture, the bar’s organic forms create a harmonious flow throughout the space. The innovative design goes beyond aesthetics, incorporating parametric design and thermoformed techniques. Crafted with Krion solid surface by Porcelanosa Group, the bar showcases the marriage of artistry and functionality. Divided into four sections, it was meticulously assembled on-site to ensure a flawless finish. Not only does Krion offer ecological benefits as a 100% recyclable material, but it also boasts antibacterial properties, high chemical resistance, repairability, and fire resistance, making it a truly remarkable choice for this sculptural masterpiece.

The SV Apartment’s ceiling and lighting design were conceptualized to reflect the layout configuration, visually separate different spaces, and prioritize sustainability. The two-layered stretched surface design offers durability, low maintenance, and recyclability. The advanced technology employed in its creation allows for precision when working with complex forms, angles, and curvatures. The main area features a matte white membrane with focal lighting distribution, creating a captivating visual impact. A recessed high-gloss grey section incorporates indirect LED cove lighting, adding a futuristic touch while introducing depth and contrast through its reflections. This combination of direct and indirect lighting results in a dynamic ambiance that brings warmth and coziness to the overall design. By embracing cutting-edge technology and eco-friendly solutions, the SV Apartment showcases a commitment to both aesthetics and sustainability.

The SV Apartment’s attention to detail extends to every corner, including a custom-designed console that serves as a functional and sculptural element. Placed next to the bar area, it elegantly separates the living room from the dining area, creating a seamless flow. Constructed using a combination of tridimensional printing and laser cutting techniques, each horizontal shelf boasts its own curvature, emphasizing form and providing stability as a support for the curved modular sofa behind it. The living room wall doubles as a massive projection screen, creating an immersive multimedia experience. The media unit was specifically customized to accommodate a built-in laser projector, with the piece intricately carved out to align with the projection path. Combining a curated selection of furniture, art deco bronze sculptures, and crystal pieces, the SV Apartment exudes a distinct personality, blending tropical nuances with a high-tech monochromatic theme.
